Skål! The Best Bars in Copenhagen

Winter in Copenhagen can be daunting. Luckily, there are plenty of bars in Copenhagen to grab a nice pour of aquavit or maybe a great brew from a local gypsy brewery to keep the belly during those cold nights.

1. Mikkeller & Friends

Great beer selection with a cozy environment, making it one of the best bars in Copenhagen. They seem to have new beers rotating through quite often. The bartenders here are very friendly and willing to help recommend a good brew for what you’re in the mood for. You can also get small pours and taste a bunch!

2. Kronborgadde 3

Right around the corner from Mikkeller & Friends, this place has a great, low-key atmosphere. One thing to note is that you smoking is allowed, so be warned that it could get a little smokey inside.

3. Musiksmag

Living room atmosphere with good music and bar games. Enough said.

4. Himmeriget

Great beer selection, one of the best in the city. Bottles/cans from breweries around the world and about 10 or so on draft.

5. Ølsnedkeren

Chill bar with a cozy environment with board games and a great beer selection. Does get pretty crowded on the weekends, so go early.

6. Lidkoeb

Fantastic cocktail bar. It sits tucked behind an alley, so it may be a little hard to find. In the winter the seating may be a little sparse, but they have a fire going on inside. During the summer they have some outdoor space so seating is a little easier to come by.  The one downside is that the prices are pretty high, even for Copenhagen standards

7. 1656

Another great cocktail bar. Just tell the bartenders what you’re feeling at the moment, sit back and let them do work.

8. Ruby

Cocktail bar located downtown on one of the canals. Kind of tough to find but definitely worth it. This is another where space is limited, so get there before 9pm to get a table without throwing elbows.

9. Brønnum

Pretty classy bar with great cocktails and great service.

10. Fermentoren

Great dive bar environment, mostly endorsed by the local crowd. Knowledgeable bartenders willing to give recommendations.
